About This Coffee

Processing: Washed
Origin: Huehuetenango, Guatemala
Producers:Jorge Mendez
Altitude: 1400 - 2100
This coffee from Jorge Mendez is a delicious example of a modern Guatemalan coffee. It has plenty of the milk chocolate you would expect, but has a bunch of fruity flavors to add a little something extra to the mix. With orange citrus and candy sweetness it tastes delicious.
El Panal means “the honeycomb” and is another bee reference in our Guatemalan coffee’s descriptions. The observant reader will have noticed that there are a lot of bee references from our producers in Huehuetenango. Bees and the honey they produce are another source of income for the coffee farmers as well as providing the valuable service of pollinating the various fruit trees and plants that are co-planted with the coffee shrubs. Apparently, the pollen from coffee flowers contains caffeine which helps the honey bees remember where the coffee flowers are.. The more you know!

Just okay
This coffee seems like it was almost too light roasted. I've tried brewing several times but it's always very plain. Not the worst coffee, but I prefer more flavor.
