About This Coffee
Variety: Castillo
Processing: Washed
Origin: Huila, Colombia
Producers: William German Vega
Altitude: 1700M
Score:
William German Vega is a second generation coffee farmer from the town of Acecedo, located in the southeast corner of Huila. This region produces some very interesting cup profiles in part due to the microclimate that is created where the Andes mountains fork into three distinct ranges. At the tip of the point, cool, wet air circulates through the mountains, producing a simulated increase in elevation. High elevation mixed with cooler nights causes the cherry to ripen slowly, which leads to sweeter cups with more complexity.
This coffee leans towards fruity, sweet, and complex. The sweetness here is expressed as honey and leads to a well-structured cup with peachy notes, bright cherries, and all-around tropical vibes. A faint but pleasant orange brightness brings it all together. Yes, please.

Lovely flavor!
They tasted a lot like the Black Sphinx dates I had just ordered. They are great complements.
