The Herrera Ordoñez family has been farming on the same plots of land in Guatemala for over 50 years, now in their third generation of farmers focusing on growing tasty bourbon and caturra beans. They have seen the demand for specialty coffee grow over time, and have worked tirelessly to increase their coffee farming and processing practices to stay at the forefront of the coffee market. We became fans of theirs the second we tasted a cup of their coffee, and we're super excited to bring you another lot from their Las Piedras farm.
This coffee has a luscious flavor profile defined by a bright pineapple note over a smooth chocolate base. The pineapple flavor gives the cup a sharp tartnesss, while the smoothness of the chocolate note anchors that tartness in a full-bodied taste and tempers the acidity of the cup. This coffee exhibits a touch of apricot flavor as well, which is a nice middle-ground between the opposing chocolate and pineapple flavors, helping to tie together the flavor profile.
