This coffee comes to us from the town of Worka Chelbesa and its surrounding smallholders of over 170 farmers. Chelbesa is the largest growing area in Gedeb, with a total area of 1240 hectares of coffee farms. The farmers here allow the coffee cherry to fully ripen before harvest, as they know this provides more sweetness to the cup. The station hand-sorts and grades the coffees, which produces lots that dry consistently and evenly. This processing showcases the outstanding flavors of Ethiopian Heirloom varietals like Wolisho and Dega.

Samii means “sky” in Oromiffa, the language native to Ethiopia and Kenya. Coffees with this name tend to express notes heavy with florals, sweet spices, hibiscus, grapes and hops. This coffee is super juicy and complex. We are noticing a delicate brew with a velvety mouthfeel and notes of stone fruit, lemon, and red grapes. Get brewing!
