Alemayehu Hillo — Ethiopia, Sidamo
From the Halo Bekola kebele in the Chire woreda of Sidama, this natural-processed lot comes from Alemayehu Hillo Meko — a smallholder farmer who began with just 2 hectares inherited from his father and, through sheer determination, expanded his farm to 6.55 hectares nestled between the celebrated regions of Bensa and Nensebo at 1,900 meters.
In the cup, this coffee is bright and aromatic — expect delicate jasmine florals alongside refreshing melon and crisp apple. The natural process adds a lush, fruit-forward sweetness that makes each sip feel like a small celebration. From the same Smallholder Series that brought us the beloved Tigist Abyot, this lot continues that tradition of exceptional, traceable Ethiopian smallholder coffee.
Alemayehu and his wife oversee every step of production — from cherry selection to drying on 120 raised beds, turned six times daily over 18–21 days. His dream is to one day build his own washing station along the Lodoma River that runs through his land.
A coffee full of heart, ambition, and the unmistakable magic of Sidama.
