We can hardly contain our excitement for this week's coffee, because we managed to snag a tasty microlot from the Huila region of Colombia! Coffee was introduced in the country around the 1750s, and thanks to a history of careful farming and experimentation, Colombia now has a varietal to call its own. A supremely balanced bean, the Colombia varietal is known to produce a crisp cup that seamlessly integrates sweetness and spice. This particular microlot was grown on the El Arrayan farm, where it was harvested and processed with careful attention to selecting a consistent bean-size. When we tested this coffee, we were immediately impressed by its smoothness and its bright but not too tart lemon and lime flavors. Huila El Arrayan is a refreshing, energizing coffee and it makes us happy to know that we get to share it with you!
