About This Coffee

Variety: Bourbon

Processing: Washed

Crop Year: 2016

Origin: Rutsiro, Rwanda

Producer: Ejo Heza Womens Cooperative

Altitude: 1600-1800m

This coffee comes from Rwanda, where it produced by members of the Ejo Heza Womens Cooperative. Ejo Heza focuses on empowering women to expand and enhance their coffee production and trade. The cooperative has experimental fields where they test new crop maintenance processes, and a washing station overlooking beautiful Lake Kivu where they prep coffee like this batch of bourbon beans. This coffee has all the characteristics of an excellent cup: bright, sweet flavor notes like vanilla and brandy, paired with a silky smooth body and twist of acidity. There have been lots of good coffees coming out of Rwanda in recent years, but the women at Ejo Heza have produced something truly special with this batch and we can't wait to hear how you like it!
